Designer Limited Edition Hareem or Genie Baggy Pants, handmade in Egypt with Egyptian cotton, threads and materials.

The main colour of these comfortable pants is Black while the threads of the 'Tajlust' (which means spider - the traditional Siwan name of these mystical symbols) have two colours: orange and white. The Tajlust embroidery on these special pants is handmade with patience and care by women from the Siwa Oasis in Egypt. The embroidered traditional symbols are made with traditional Siwan colours. No two 'Tajlust's' are identical. The technique with which they embroider is rare and unique to the Siwan people; it is a purely Siwan techinique.

SIZE: Ideal for a women with hips that measure between 97cm and 102cm (Medium). 
The actual Length of the pants is approximately 104 cm.
You can easily adjust the top and the bottom openings of the pants with a cotton string.

Their is a gap of approximately 5cm between the extreme bottom of the pants and where the embroidery begins. If the pants are too long on you then you can get them shortened without having to cut off the embroidery. If you want the pants in a different size or length please click here


The particular design has a way to beautifully and moderately accentuate your hip curves and and allow you to move freely and in style. 
No need for a bag for the pants come with two oversized pockets. Choosing the right shoes/boots or sandals to go with them is not a hassle given the alternative ways you can wear the pants. 
 
Wear them as you wish and here are some tips: tie the bottom openings up for the Sindabad look, wear them loose (open at the bottom) for a Skirt look or during a hot day tie them up below knee level for an alternative and comfortable bubble harem shorts look.

Siwa, from the Berber word Siwa - "prey bird; protector of the sun god Amon-Ra", is one of Egypt's isolated settlements with mostly ethnic Berbers who speak a distinct language of the Berber family known as 'taSiwit'. Apart from being an enchanting and popular tourist attraction it is famous for its dates, olives and traditional craftsmanship. The symbols (motifs) in their traditional embroidery played (and still play) a very important role in communication within the distinct ethnic culture. The motifs on this garment have a specific meaning and it is said that they are mystical solar symbols related to the 'sun god Amon Ra'. The embroidered symbols on the Sindabad pants are known as 'Tajlust' which means spider.

Women from the Siwa Oasis are known for their complex and beautiful handwork but little people know that: Siwan women are very often not available, not reliable and skilled only in the handwork not the details and quality of the final product produced.
