These type of scarves have been traditionally used by Egyptian housewives (watch any Egyptian TV series and rest assure somebody will be wearing one on their head, hips or neck.) and belly dancers as headdresses or hip scarves. However, with time the use of these scarves evolved and women of all ages started using them in a multitude of ways; as a head dress, hip scarf, neck scarf, jeans belt or top. They are ideal to dance, wear as a bandana, over your jeans, skirt or over your bikini (sarong). Others also use it to accessorise their bag (tie it on the handle) and change its use on the go.
