High Fashion - fashion houses like
Italian giant Max Mara have designed similar head dresses for their
Sept. 2005 catalogue, while our head dress has been around since
2001 but only supplied and advertised in Italy at first. The only
difference being that ours is for a slim and perfect fit which
inspired the Italian thick and loose look (see pictures).
The Story behind the invention of this
innovative head piece:
Farida is also a freelance fashion advisor/designer for different
brands in Italy & the Middle East. She wears hijab (head cover) and she
found the usual scarves/veils/shawls a bit boring and tedious to put on
especially when in a hurry!
She also noticed that apparel companies rarely take hijab seriously in
the fashion industry.
So, she started designing her own hijab
styles. It took a long time to perfect it, but the end result is a
flexible, adequate for any season/event, fashionable and easy to use
hijab that only a few women in the world currently proudly own. Handmade
and refined by highly skilled craftswomen in Rome, Italy and Cairo,
Egypt this is a piece every woman who wears hijab should try. This does
not mean that it is only ideal to be worn by women who wear hijab. In
fact some of our customers use it as a fashionable head scarf they can
slip on and off like a hood, letting it settle on their shoulders when
it’s off. Others have used to it to ski!
